Customer Reviews:
After receiving this unit and getting it set up (correcting the date, time, recalibrating the screen several times, etc.)it worked sort of. No matter how I setup the wifi it would not work, will not connect even with a static IP address. I purchased the unit in good faith hoping to use it around the house as a moble computer without the weight and hassle of a laptop. Wrong! If you cannot connect to the internet then the unit is useless. I have contacted the seller at least 6 times and they seem angry that I questioned their product. My last inquiry about what to do or if they had a firmware fix was to contact someone else for a RMA number and return it at my cost to China. Lovely way to to do business, take my money, give a product that does not work as stated by you, then make me pay for the expensive return to get my money back. Avoid this product like the plague! I am saddened that I must rate this even at one star.
The specs make this sound like it could provide some sort of usability. The touch recognition is very, very bad. In fact, it is completly wrong much of the time. It comes with a telescoping stylus, which sort of makes things better, but ultimately this is absolutely unusable if not worthless.
After using it (trying to use it) a bit more, a few things stuck out to me. When powered on, you see a Linux penguin in the corner, followed by “A N D R O I D ” appearing on the screen for a few seconds. When it starts up, the time is always Jan 1, 1970. After mulling over all these non-standard behaviors, I realize that this unit is running some sort of hacked up emulator, _not_ the native Android operating system. This very well explains why the touch response is so very bad – it takes the touch inputs and turns them into mouse events for the emulator to process.
If you want a tablet, don’t waste your time/money. (Wendel S)
First it has a wireless range of approximently 5 feet, so if you plan on using it anywhere other than next to a wireless router it won’t work. Most programs and applications are not compatible, so you can’t read books or watch movies on it. It has no built in memory had to buy an additional mini SD card. It’s shipped from Hong Kong (took 3 weeks) and I’m going through the return process now so I had to ship it to China that was 3 weeks ago and I still haven’t heard from them about getting my money back.
