superpad 10 2

Monica:

I purchased the Superpad last month.
It arrived as scheduled and included everything as promised. It looked nice in the box, but as soon as I removed it I could tell it was cheaply made. It felt and sounded as though the screen needed to be “popped in” every time I moved it. I pressed around all of the edges to be sure everything was secure, but it still made the popping sound. The screen resolution was not good. I adjusted the brightness which did not help. It is very hard to read the screen in a lit room unless the tablet is held at a weird angle. There were many Chinese settings that I couldn’t seem to get rid of. I guess that was more of an annoyance that I could’ve lived with, but what prompted me to send this item back is that the camera did not work properly. I received the rainbow of colors that I noticed some other reviewers mentioned. Amazon told me to contact the manufacturer which I could not find any info on, so I sent the tablet back to Amazon for a refund.

Ulysses:

My SuperPAD arrived on time. It came just as ordered. Came with charger, GPS cable, user manual, stylus, registration code, headphones. There was not a single crack or scratch on the screen. Warning do not bother to buy the Ipad case that you see everyone buys thinking it will fit with the SuperPAD. The SuperPAD has a longer length than that of an Ipad. Just a money saver tip for you. Also it does not come with SD cards so make sure you go ahead and get two 16 GB memory sticks. It is a pretty good deal compared to the Ipad in my opinion. It is very useful for connecting your email accounts, PDFs, and notes. Battery life last longer than most laptops. Comes also with a webcam. So you can use Skype, and eventually Oovoo. That is a work in progress. Also expect people to confuse it with the Ipad. They will ask you how much it cost, is it like a big Droid phone, can you make calls from it, where did you get it. Honestly tell them the name and READ, I repeat READ reviews.

Personal Problem:
I have a problem with Android Market. I would get onto it, and select an app and it would stay at “Starting download”. It would go no further. I would uninstall the Android Market over ten times and retry over and over. I did some extensive research and found out that the SuperPAD is not “Officially” apart of Android. It has to deal with this product being foreign. That is why as soon as you get it, it says Beijing China for the current weather location, and time zone. At first I contacted the place I purchased it from, and they contacted me back promptly. I however was impatient and researched my issue throughout the web and found a solution to my app downloading problem. Other than the Android Market problem the SuperPAD works great

Deadman:

I did alot of research before I made my purchase. Read the reviews and so on. I got my Superpad a few days ago, and I love it. Everything was included as promised. Yes, charging was required as I thought it would be. I have read some negative reviews and find them to be wildly overstated. Or maybe I am the one who is stupid.

My product works wonderfully. I use both the stilus, and my finger it just takes so getting use too. Other than that it is a wicked product, and it is not just me saying that. Everyone in my workplace that has seen it (Of course I had to demo it for them) thinks it is wicked especially when I tell them all the features. Like the dual SD card slots, all the ports. That the IPAD doesn’t have. I have had guesses of up to $1000.00. When I tell them that I spent less than $300.00 they are really impressed. Bravo China. I do alot of one on one training in my job, and all of my notes are in my Android phone (too small for two people to view in a training setting) the larger 10.2 screen makes session move along so much faster.

Now I will admit I am new to the tablet movement. I have never touched an IPAD. I did however purchase and Archos 7 and I returned in within two days. However I am not new to computers as a whole. I own a desktop, a laptop, and an Android smart phone, and now a tablet. In my home are two more laptops, three more smart phones, as well as a palm pilot. Somehow it became my job to keep them all running and up to date. So with that said, I like to think that I can spot a top notch product when I see and put my hands on one, this is without a doubt it.

Now I would like to say a couple of things about Amazon.com. This is the first time ever I have purchase anything online. I just didn’t trust it. I like going to a store, paying my money, and walking out with the product. Hats off to you Amazon. You kept me up to date on my order, it even arrived before the projected date, complete, and packed well. You just earned a customer for life.

I use lots of different kinds of computers, and I have an android phone. So the operation potential of this unit was clear to me. Basically a computer you can carry around like an iPad, at about 1/3 of the price. It has a nice, clear, and large display with hdmi output and other neat features. The touch screen worked just fine. However, there were two things that really stood out to me – both not good: the poor assembly workmanship, and undependable operation characteristics. First, the plastic buttons that cover the screws on the corners kept falling out. Not a huge deal, but annoying. A much bigger deal was one of the SD memory slots that was misaligned with the case. You can maybe get the SD card into the slot, but you’ll never get it out again! Second, it would not go into hibernation mode and you could never get it to come out. I purchased this unit because I wanted something that would go to sleep, and then wake up almost instantly when I wanted to use it later, picking up wherever I left off. I came to learn (from the vendor, no less) that for this unit, whenever it went to sleep (and eventually, hibernated – I guess), you couldn’t wake it up again. You had to completely shut it off (force shutdown by holding the power switch down for seven seconds), and then power it up again. This process completely defeats the purpose of sleep/hibernate modes. I did test the basic functionality, and it was there. But the fact that you had to essentially force a shutdown and then reboot from a cold start almost every time you wanted to use it was enough to make me send it back. My guess, and it’s only a guess, it that the hardware for the design was not thoroughly tested before it went to manufacturing, and it simply does not execute the sleep/hibernate mode correctly.

Oh, yes. I should also mention that the manual is extremely limited. It has enough information to get you going, but that’s about it. None of what I discovered was in the manual. In fact, the manual doesn’t even clearly tell you where the ON button is on the unit (on the top of the case, in the middle). So be prepared to do some research on the Internet to figure out what you can do with this unit. Lots of potential. You just have to put up with the quirks.
